We go to local farms to get your vegetables, we buy meats locally, try to use Loire fish, it would be a shame to offer you products with the opposite ecological footprint\u2026<\/p>\n

We are aware, however, that the problem is more complex than it seems. CO2 emissions during transport are only part of the carbon footprint of an item, which makes it possible to account for greenhouse gas emissions during its production, distribution and consumption.<\/p>\n

In particular, the energy used to grow, store and process food should be taken into account. The journey of a fresh apple from New Zealand in April, after four weeks in a container ship, would apparently consume less energy than a local apple, stored in a cold room for several months.<\/p>\n

The choice of purchases from an environmental perspective is really not obvious and buying local is not systematically more ecological. We simply try to be as consistent as possible with the other choices and purchases of the house, it is our goal at all times.<\/span><\/div>\n
